Day One in Tokyo, Japan

Wow! I cannot believe I am in Tokyo, Japan! I am currently staying at the Four Seasons Hotel in Tokyo (a five star hotel; WOW!) . The sushi I had for breakfast in the morning was so much more DELICIOUS than compared to the eggs and toast sold back at home in Singapore. After eating my breakfast, I made my way to the Tsukiji Fish Market under the recommendation of my mother. It was GREAT! I managed to buy all my groceries in just one place for the first time in my life. Subsequently, I headed to the famous Meiji Shrine. There, I experienced what a REAL shrine is like. The shrine was similar to the one described in InuYasha, an anime I enjoy watching. By then, I was starting to get hungry, so I made my way to Gottsan, where I enjoyed an EXCELLENT giblet pot dish, complete with soju. After I had stuffed myself silly with the sashimi, I took a walk to the Ueno Park Zoo. The two pandas breeded there were so ADORABLE! It took quite a while to tear myself away from the panda enclosure. It was getting dark by now so I decided to make a trip to the Science Musuem. I read from the brochure given there and decided to check out Atomos exibit where they introduce nuclear powers simply. Simply put, it was extremely INTERESTING. Next, I went to the Tokyo National Museum where I fell in LOVE with a display of the sometsuke technique. I could not believe it but I was suddenly famished! So I went over to the Yokohama China Town Shark Fin Resturant where I had, you guessed it, shark's fin. It was super YUMMY as I have never eaten shark's fin before. The sky was pitch black by the time I finished eating so I made one last trip to the Rikugien Park. I caught my breath as I walk in to a SEA of stars. It was a sight you would never see in Singapore! So here I am now, safely enclosed in my room at the Four Seasons Hotel, typing this into my blog. I know I am slowly dozing off so I'll tell you more tomorrow!

LoveLoveLove, -R-
